CAMEON live at The Chance (Nov 1983)

Cameon (pronounced: ca-me-on) was a band that played the NY tri-state area from 1979-1984 with a mix of covers and originals. We eventually started to play mostly originals and this recording is of a gig we did in November of 1983. Just 5 months later, Julio Beltzer, our lead singer passed away. All songs, except for “I’ll Be You It’s Me”, were written by Julio Beltzer and fraternal twin brother John. Julio mostly wrote the music and John the lyrics. The recording is not good quality as it was recorded on a basic cassette recorder but was enhanced as much as possible. During that gig, guitarist Chris Stavropoulos had joined the band. There are 2 extra songs added that was written, performed and recorded by Julio just a month before his passing. They are “Hang it Up” and “Songs of Love”. In “Hang It Up” you will hear Julio at the end recording some song short song ideas that he probably wanted to finish. The nonprofit organization that John started called the Songs of Love Foundation, was named after Julio’s song… “Songs of Love”. Hope you enjoy it!
